ParticleWorks is a Computational Fluid Dynamics software package. Specifically, it is based on an advanced fluid dynamics analysis method known as the Moving Particle Simulation (MPS) method. In particular, each particle represents a unit of fluid, enabling precise tracking of free surfaces and complex interactions. As a result, it can simulate the movement of fluids precisely and stably. Furthermore, the software can also simulate free surfaces, as well as the interaction between 2 different fluids, such as oil and water.

  • Turbulence via a hybrid LES (Large Eddy Simulation) model
  • Heat transfer between solids and fluids, including temperature-dependent viscosity
  • Free-surface flow and large deformations
  • Viscosity for Newtonian, Non-Newtonian, and high-viscosity fluids
  • Air resistance from external data (for mist or spray analysis)
  • Implicit and Explicit solution methods
  • Multiple boundary conditions: Wall, Inflow, Moving, Periodic
  • Coupled simulation of fluid, powder, and rigid body
  • Tight 2-way coupling with RecurDyn (rigid and flexible bodies)

ParticleWorks is widely used in automotive, industrial machinery, and electronics industries for splash analysis, lubrication simulation, and cooling system design. It integrates with multi-body dynamics tools to couple fluid behaviour with structural motion in a single workflow.
